This application ("Holdback") is published under the Apple Developer Program by Raman Pazdniakou, who acts as the legal publisher of the app. The app was developed by Vladislav Bobarykin and is distributed as a commercial product through the App Store.
Holdback does not require an account. It does not ask for your name, email address, or phone number. The following data is stored only on your device — in the app's local storage and in a shared App Group container used by the app's extensions — and is not transmitted to us or to any server:
Uninstalling the app removes all of this data and lifts all blocks.
Holdback requests read-only access to your step count. It does not write any data to Apple Health and does not access any other Health data type. Step data is processed on the device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party. Access can be revoked at any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps.
Holdback uses Apple's Family Controls, Device Activity and Managed Settings frameworks. When you select apps, categories or websites to block, iOS provides the app with opaque tokens rather than app or site identities. The app is therefore technically unable to determine which apps you selected, and this information is not transmitted anywhere. Selections are stored on your device in a shared container so that the app's blocking extensions can apply them. The same applies to the permanent blocking feature ("Never Allowed") and to the optional adult website filter, which is applied by iOS itself.
Device usage statistics displayed in the app are rendered by Apple's Device Activity Report extension, which runs in an isolated sandbox. Neither the app nor we can read, store, or transmit these statistics.
Holdback uses the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:
Data stored on your device remains until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. Analytics data is retained by Google for up to 14 months and is then deleted automatically.
Depending on your place of residence, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Because no account exists and we hold no contact details, the majority of your data exists only on your device and is under your direct control; deleting the app erases it. For analytics data, contact us at the address below. Analytics collection can be stopped at any time by deleting the app.
California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA.
Holdback is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us so we can address the situation.
Data on your device is protected by iOS security and by the device passcode or biometric lock. Data transmitted to Firebase is encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
