These terms govern your use of the Holdback iOS application ("Holdback"), published under the Apple Developer Program by Raman Pazdniakou, who acts as the legal publisher of the app, and developed by Vladislav Bobarykin. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies and is available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where these terms and Apple's agreement conflict, Apple's agreement prevails.
Holdback restricts access to applications, categories and websites you select, according to rules you configure: a schedule, a daily time limit, a daily step goal read from Apple Health, or a permanent block. It also provides focus sessions with optional ambient sound.

Holdback is not a medical device and does not provide medical, health, or fitness advice. Step goals you set are your own choice and are not a recommendation from us. Step counts come from Apple Health and may be inaccurate or delayed. Consult a qualified professional before making decisions about your physical activity, particularly if you have a health condition, are pregnant, or are recovering from illness or injury.
Holdback offers a free tier and an optional paid subscription ("Holdback Premium").
Some features of Holdback are available at no cost; others require a subscription. What each tier includes is shown in the app before purchase and may change between versions. Such changes will not remove access to a subscription already purchased, for its remaining term.
You agree not to use the app unlawfully; not to reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive its source code except as permitted by law; not to interfere with its operation; and not to use it to restrict another person's device without their knowledge and consent.
The app, its design, and its content are owned by us and protected by intellectual property law. These terms grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, in line with Apple's App Store terms. No other rights are granted.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the app or any feature at any time. We may also update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or in the release notes. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. These terms are effective as of 2026-07-31.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, or freedom from error. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, opportunity, or profit, arising from your use of or inability to use the app, including any consequence of an app being blocked or of a block failing to apply.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing in these terms deprives you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for the app. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. In the event of any failure of the app to conform to a warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
